THE SOCIETY OF OCCUPATIONAL MEDICINE (SOM) JOINS THE INSTITUTIONAL ADVISORY COMMITTEE OF THE INTERNATIONAL ORP FOUNDATION

The Society of Occupational Medicine (SOM) is the most representative professional organization in the United Kingdom for all those with an interest in occupational health. It brings together doctors, nurses, psychologists, technicians, and other healthcare professionals with a clear mission: to improve people’s health in the workplace. Founded in 1935 and registered as a charity, SOM not only promotes clinical practice and research in occupational medicine but also plays a key role in dialogue with the British government and public policy decision-makers.

Through its scientific publication Occupational Medicine Journal, it promotes research and the dissemination of best practices. It also organizes webinars, academic forums, and specialized interest groups that allow its members to share experiences, access continuous education, and stay up to date in a constantly evolving sector.

SOM also provides peer support services, professional appraisal tools, and access to regional networks that encourage local collaboration among its more than 11 territorial groups.
