Vision Zero as a mentality of change and advancement in SST, relying on artificial intelligence, collaborative robotics and achieving safe spaces to facilitate mental health care in the company were the main axes of ORP2023 Bilbao
s-Horst Konkolewsky, valued the importance of bringing together different visions from different parts of the world to achieve a holistic vision on OSH and well-being. “We need a Vision Zero mentality and put the person at the center. “We cannot divide the person based on the aspects of their life but rather see them as a complete and unique individual.” Furthermore, Konkolewsky stressed, “life has changed dramatically after the pandemic and the changes are happening at a dizzying pace. We have to contribute to a more sustainable and healthy world.”
The president of FIORP recalled the importance of SST being, since last year, a fundamental right of people and requested a minute of silence for all those present in commemoration of all the people who lost their lives for work reasons during the last year.
Chile 2024
The culmination of ORP2023 brought the announcement of ORP2024, which will be hosted by Chile. This was announced by ORP Director Pedro R. Mondelo. “We will have an exciting congress. At the beginning of this congress he said that we had to copy Manuel Kant’s idea of “dare to think.” We also have to dare to innovate and prevention is what we want. It will be a different congress. We are waiting for you with a big smile. Thank you very much for being our guide.”
For his part, Juan Luis Moreno, General Manager of the Chilean Security Association (ACHS) expressed that “we are leaving with a suitcase loaded with new memories, new friends, alliances, pending conversations and we hope that time passes quickly and we will be the height in Chile of what has been done here.”
From Chile Pamela Gana, Superintendent of Social Security SUSESO of the Government of Chile invited all ORP attendees, in person and virtual, to attend the 2024 edition. She highlighted the requirement to reach the ‘zero’ number of accidents and illnesses professionals in addition to the fact that the urgency must be placed in mental health. “Only in this way will we have a healthy and safe job that implies economic progress.”
