The Polytechnic University of Catalonia (Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya in Catalan) is a Spanish public university of the Generalitat de Catalunya, specialising in the fields of engineering, architecture and science.
It has centres and facilities in Barcelona, Casteldefels, Manresa, San Cugat del Vallés, Tarrasa, Villanueva y Geltrú and Igualada.
In 2012 it was ranked the best polytechnic university in Spain and number 77 in the world ranking of engineering and technology universities according to the QS World University ranking ,1 as well as first European university in Erasmus Mundus masters.2 3
