The Simón I. Patiño University was founded on 23 July 2006 and began its activities in 2007, after obtaining the respective Ministerial Resolution. It came into being thanks to the initiative of a group of Bolivian academics, several of them former scholarship holders of the Simón I. Patiño Foundation, and a team of academic, intellectual, cultural and cultural figures. Patiño Foundation, and a team of academic, intellectual, cultural and business personalities, who set out to generate real and significant changes in Bolivian higher education.
