The ‘Centre Específic de Recerca per a la Millora i Innovació de les Empreses’ (CERpIE) of the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya, was created with the fundamental objective of increasing and giving support to the business fabric in all those activities of research and technology transfer as well as continuous training, which can be carried out aimed at companies and workers.
The CERpIE’s intention is to offer applied and professional research to companies and institutions, making available to them a critical mass of multidisciplinary personnel with the vocation of becoming reliable external collaborators for the organisations. Thus, with particular reference to the objectives of research, technology transfer and lifelong learning, which are the basic areas of action of CERpIE, these are focused on the following lines of work:
a. Building management line
b. Occupational risk prevention, ergonomics and the environment.
c. Line of innovation in companies and organisations
The CERpIE has its headquarters at the Escuela Técnica Superior de Ingeniería Industrial de Barcelona (10th floor) where the aforementioned activities are carried out and which correspond to what is typical of socially recognised teaching centres with a history linked to technological and cultural progress.
