ORP 2023 international award for the IGSAP in an inspiring and emotional ORPHEUS NIGHT at the Guggenheim Museum Bilbao
The Second Vice President and Minister of Labor and Employment Idoia Mendia received the ORP Recognition for professional career 2023
The Guggenheim Museum Bilbao was the inspiring setting for the award ceremony of the ORP 2023 International Award and the ORP 2023 Recognitions that are received on the ORPHEUS NIGHT within the ORP congress program. These awards were created more than 15 years ago to value and highlight, rewarding, the best initiatives and solutions for people from the world of work and business. Throughout its history, with the delivery of Bilbao, there are already 90 international and national organizations and companies that have collected these recognitions.
The President of the International ORP Foundation (FIORP), Hans-Horst Konkolewsky and the Director of the ORP congresses, Pedro R. Mondelo highlighted the role and work developed by the award-winning companies, organizations and individuals towards the common achievement of reach a healthier and fairer society.
The 2023 ORP INTERNATIONAL AWARD was awarded to The institute of Global Safety Promotion (IGSAP). The jury’s decision was based on IGSAP’s long-standing commitment to promoting safety, health and well-being at work both in Japan and internationally, and its leading role in the successful organization of the second Vision Zero Summit that took place from May 11 to 13, 2022 and resulted in the adoption of the historic Tokyo Declaration on “Vision Zero for All”. The award was collected by the Director of IGSAP, Dr. Toshihiro Fujita, who thanked the award for its prestige and took advantage of the occasion to proudly show the edition of the IGSAP White Paper that applies the Vision Zero wellness mentality.
The ORP Special Recognition for professional career 2023 was received by the General Director of OSALAN, Lourdes Íscar and the Vice Minister of Labor and Social Security, Elena Pérez, and the Second Vice President and Minister of Labor and Employment, Idoia Mendia Cueva. The Vice President highlighted the importance of workplace well-being and caring for people at the occupational level to achieve a healthier society.
The ORP 2023 Special Recognitions for Merit in Business Management 2023 were awarded to:
VISION ZERO FUND. In recognition of their commitment to building safe and healthy global supply chains and achieving real improvements in the health and safety of some of the most vulnerable worker groups. The award was received by: Ockert Dupper, Global Program Manager, Vision Zero Fund and Paul Wallot, Technical Officer International Labor Organization (ILO).
ACCIONA INFRAESTRUCTURAS for its commitment to evidence-based prevention. Pablo Yáñez, director of Occupational Risk Prevention at ACCIONA, collects the award.
INDEPENDENCE DRILLING for its Human Performance engineering program in its Work Over teams. María Elena Arango Manrique, HSE Vice President of Independence Drilling SA, received the recognition.
INTERNATIONAL ASSOCIATION FOR LABOR INSPECTION (IALI) In recognition of its role as the leading professional association for labor inspection and its significant contribution to higher labor protection standards around the world. Siong Hin Ho, President International Association of Labor Inspectors (IALI), traveled to Bilbao to collect the award.
EROSKI for its healthy company model to promote Health and Safety. They received the award on the stage installed in the Atrium of the Guggenheim Bilbao Gonzalo Fernández Ibáñez, Director of Prevention, Labor Relations and Administration EROSKI Group; and Ana Leal Lozano, Head of Prevention and Health of the EROSKI Group.
POSITIVE COMPAÑÍA DE SEGUROS S.A. for its “Positiva Educa” Project and its commitment to learning to care for life. The recognition was collected by Iván Heredia Ferreira, Vice President of Promotion and Prevention of Positiva Compañía de Seguros S.A.
SIEMENS in recognition of its commitment to promoting the safety, health and well-being of its global workforce, going beyond compliance by addressing the personal values and mindsets of managers and employees, and its formidable contribution to international OSH collaboration. The award was received by Lars Hoffmann, Head of EHS Expert Center SIEMENS.
ACEROS INOXIDABLES OLARRA, S.A. for the development of an integrated management system for the prevention of occupational risks based on the profitability of prevention and continuous improvement and its OLARRA BIZI healthy company program.
